About the Temple of Botanicals
The Temple of Botanicals is created by Sydney clinical herbalist Jenn King and based online in Bondi, Sydney.
Here at the temple, the philosophy is clear ~ natural medicine is the original medicine, with long standing traditions across all cultures since the first humans walked the earth. In modern times we are also lucky enough to have biomedicine and other types of health support available. It is my belief that for true holistic health it is best for people to receive the right care for whatever they are facing, and this often includes a multidisciplinary approach. I like to think of it as having the best of both worlds ~ imbibing herbs and receiving optimal nutrition as the first port of call, while partaking in other healthcare modalities when the situation suits.
Health doesn’t have to be either/or and in this clinic, I adapt your treatment plans to suit the needs of your unique health situation. We do not judge and we love to collaborate with your other health practitioners in order to ensure you receive the care you deserve.
A core value here at the temple is community care and reciprocity. We have a tiered pricing system in order to be affordable to all and practice as sustainably as possible. We also give back to nature as a way of saying thank you for the healing plant gifts we receive. Each new client that books in will have a tree planted on their behalf. We support tree planting initiatives via Carbon Positive Australia and Koala Clancy Foundation
Herbal medicine, nutrition, holistic naturopathic care, aromatherapy, and more.

A Herbalist will consult with you and create personalised plant medicines specific to your health needs. We match the herb to the person and seek to either support or pacify your natural constitution as a part of your treatment with herbs.
Herbalists prescribe based on what is happening with your body, mind and emotions in the now as well as seeking to enhance your wellbeing long term. We don’t just cover your symptoms with a herbal band aid, we look for the underlying causes as well and help you to enhance, restore (where possible) and maintain better health into the future.
A fully individual health plan is created specifically for you including prescribed herbal medicines, nutrition and holistic lifestyle support. Testing and referrals are utlilised where needed to ensure you have the best care.
No matter where you are with your health, herbalists aim to enhance your quality of life and overall wellbeing with natures medicines.

Herbalists and Naturopaths have a lot of similarities in terms of how we are educated and practice however, with Herbalists the main difference is that we work primarily with completely natural, plant based medicines in order to re-establish or increase health.
Many herbalists are also working with plants on a very personalised level, so we don’t just give a herb based on it’s actions alone, we also study and have an understanding of herbs on an energetic level, which means whether or not a plant medicine is drying, hydrating, cooling or heating on the body ~ and we match the herb to suit the person very specifically (some naturopaths also do further study and work like this with herbs but it is much less common).
Herbalists specialise in plant medicines (we are obsessed with herbs) and like naturopaths, we also study nutrition as well as other holistic health subjects like lifestyle coaching & counselling, flower essences, iridology and homeopathy alongside herbs. We don’t routinely prescribe supplements though as they are almost always synthetic.
Herbalists will also utilise functional testing like blood tests and microbiome testing when needed.
